About Care is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
  
We deliver caring, compassionate support services using trained volunteers with special concern for the elderly and physically challenged homebound residents of Chandler and Gilbert. Our Support Services include:

  • Transportation
  • Shopping and Errands
  • Respite Care
  • Computer Assistance
  • Friendly Visits
  • Reassurance Phone Calls
  • Minor Home Repairs

Dignity Health Awards About Care with Grant
On January 18, 2012 Dignity Health (formerly Catholic Healthcare West) granted About Care a grant in the amount of $9,672 that allows About Care to partner with Dignity health to build a community support system that:Ann Marie McArthur Accepts Grant on behalf of About Care

  1.  Enables frail elderly, physically challenged and chronically ill homebound residents to remain independent in their own homes with dignity and an improved quality of life;
  2. Provides opportunities for volunteers to make a difference in a way that is meaningful to them; and
  3. Facilitates collaboration and leveraging of resources among a wide range of community organizations. 

Free Support Services for Homebound Individuals living in Chandler & Gilbert!

Becoming a client is an easy 3 step process:

  1. Call About Care’s Barbara Lawrence at 480.802.2331. 
  2. Schedule your in-home evaluation.
  3. If eligible, schedule your first service.

Volunteers Needed!
If you are interested in volunteering, please call Beth Summers at 480.802.2331.  You will be required to come into the About Care office for an interview and training. Please bring your driver’s license and proof of car insurance.  Applications are available on-line or in person.  Orientations are done Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  It only takes a little time to make a big difference in someone else’s life.

About Care is currently looking for a local restaurant to help us honor our volunteers on a monthly basis.  We are seeking to have a volunteer of the month enjoy lunch for 2 (which hopefully would include a client who is homebound).  If you know of anyone who can help us with this, please contact us at 480.802.2331.
